No Place Like Home:

This weekend is Odessa’s first set of games at home in 2023. Odessa is 8-5 this season at the JackShack. The Ice Wolves have a 6-7-1-1 road record when playing South Division teams. Odessa still has 15 home games remaining this season. Of those 15 games, 11 of them will be against a team that is currently in a playoff spot. The Jackalopes longest homestand in the second half of the season is seven games (Mar. 17 – Apr. 1).

Slim Margin:

Four of the last five games for Odessa have been decided by one goal. The Jacks are 7-3-0-1 in one-goal games this season. In comparison, New Mexico is 5-4-2-1 in games decided by one goal. The Ice Wolves have not swept an opponent since they played Shreveport on Nov. 4-5. Already this month, Odessa has two sweeps and a 5-2 record. Two wins for the Jacks would put them within four points of New Mexico and potentially two of Shreveport. Odessa has played New Mexico the fewest number of times compared to any other South Division team. Last year, the season series between Odessa and New Mexico was split, 4-4.
