Odessa, TX – The Odessa Jackalopes are proud to announce that a trio of players have committed to play collegiate hockey for Nichols College of the Commonwealth Coast Conference. Lucas Andersson, Petr Miko, and Noah Poindexter plan to be teammates for the next four years together at Nichols.
Poindexter is a three-year veteran with the Jackalopes, beginning with only nine games in the 2015-16. Over parts of three seasons, Poindexter scored 7 goals and added 31 assists for 38 over points while playing in 127 career games, good for 5thall time.
Poindexter is an extremely hard worker who is going to fight until the bitter end of the game. The native of Holland, Michigan is very hard on the puck and is willing to throw the body if it will win the puck. Poindexter earned the honor this past year of being a leader for the Jackalopes and being named an alternate captain by his peers.
Andersson and Miko joined the Jackalopes only this season, but made their presence known. They were discovered after attending College Hockey Sweden last summer. Andersson played in the EHL the season before, and found himself in the states for another year.
Andersson, the native of Sweden, scored five times on the year and assisted on six more. Lucas provided an excellent defensive presence and helped to run the right point for Odessa on the power play all season.
MIko on the other hand went under the radar until he was spotted at College Hockey Sweden by the Jackalopes. Playing his entire career in the Czech Republic, Miko’s transition to the states was flawless. Miko finished the season 3rdon the team in goals with 18, trailing only Blake Bride and Ricky Carballo. Miko had 13 assists this past season as well, racking up 31 points in 54 games.
The trio of Jackalopes will be the first three to play at Nichols College from Odessa. They will join the squad and have a tough challenge, having to take down the 2017-18 runner-ups, Salve Regina.
