Sjodahl named NAHL Forward of the Month

 

ODESSA, TX (APRIL 6, 2016) – The Odessa Jackalopes, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are excited to announce center-man Hampus Sjodahl has been named the Bauer Forward of the Month in March, becoming the first Jack to earn such honor.

 

Sjodahl, 20, had nine goals and seven assists in 10 games in March with a plus-three rating. The Bemidji State commit (WCHA) had points in 9-of-10 games and recorded his first career hat trick on March 11 against the Lone Star Brahmas.

 

Sjodahl’s (6-2/197) 35 goals this season is a franchise record and is second in the NAHL only behind Fairbanks’ Todd Burgess (38). The Stockholm, Sweden native, is one point shy of Kenny Hausinger’s Jacks single season point record set last year (68).

 

Odessa welcomes in the Amarillo Bulls this Friday and Saturday for the final two regular-season games of the year. Sjodahl has nine goals and six assists in 10 games against the Bulls with a plus-seven rating and two game winners.
