North American Hockey League Announces Start Date

The North American Hockey League announced on Monday that the league would start their regular season on Friday, October 9 of this year. The league plans to play a full season and plans to release team schedules around the 1st of September according to the league press release.

The NAHL has stated that they will continue to work daily with member organizations to “monitor the situation in all 27 NAHL communities, utilizing recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local authorities.”

With the delayed start, some of the dates of the NAHL’s premier events have been impacted. The 18th  annual NAHL Showcase will now take place from December 16-19, 2020, at the Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota. The 2021 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament will also take place on February 8-9, 2021, at the New England Sports Village in Attleboro, Massachusetts, and the 2021 NAHL Robertson Cup National Championship will be held from May 21-25, 2021, at Fogerty Arena in Blaine, Minnesota.

The Jackalopes will be entering their 10th season in the NAHL and 24th season in Odessa with new head coach Jason Fortier behind the bench. He will be assisted by second year assistant coach Adam Phillips and first year assistant Nate Skidmore.
