JACKS RELEASE 2014-15 TRANING CAMP ROSTER
31 players will compete for spots on the 2014-15 regular season roster.
PLYMOUTH, MI – The Odessa Jackalopes, members of the North American Hockey League, finished up this season’s tryout camp earlier this week. The pace was fast and furious, as over 100 players competed for the right to attend Jackalopes training camp in August. The process of selecting the 18th edition of the Odessa Jackalopes began in early June when the Jacks selected eight players in the NAHL Draft. Those players, returners, tenders and free agents met at the home of the Ontario Hockey League’s Plymouth Whalers in Plymouth, MI on July 16th to showcase their talents in front of the Jackalopes staff.

Mixed in to this talented group of 31 are six exponentially talented players with NCAA Division I commitments. Jackalopes head coach Greg Gatto is thrilled to see top tier players that want to play in Odessa.
“It’s all about instilling a winning culture,” said the Lethbridge Alberta born Gatto. “We have some experience in our returning players and a nice group of talented young players coming in. This will be an exciting season for Jackalopes fans.”
Goaltending is always an interesting position for any hockey team. This season was no different for the Jackalopes, as they saw both of their goalies from the 2013-14 roster move on at the end of the season. Goaltending coach Cody Campbell went all the way over to Sweden to see Robin Johansson play and what he saw was a legitimate starting goaltender.
“Robin is 6’2, so he fills the net well, but he is also an incredible athlete.” said Campbell. ”Right now he is penciled in as our number one goaltender, but it will be an open race once training camp starts in Odessa.
“Regardless of position on a depth chart, we are very happy with our goaltending situation this season.”
The Jackalopes begin their quest for the Robertson Cup on September 13th in Wichita Falls. Season Ticket plans and Flex Packs are on sale now and start as low as $35. The home schedule begins when the Jacks welcome the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees to town on October 30th.
