JACKS KICKOFF PINK IN THE RINK WEEKEND AS CELEBRITY WAITERS AT YUM YUMS CAFÉ & BAKERY
All tips will be donated to the West Texas Gifts of Hope.
ODESSA, TX – The Odessa Jackalopes, members of the North American Hockey League, are proud to announce their plans for this season’s Pink in the Rink weekend. The annual event will take place on the weekend of February 21st and 22nd, when the Jacks welcome the Wichita Falls Wildcats to the Ector County Coliseum for the first time this season. It all kicks off on Wednesday, February 19th at Yum Yums Café & Bakery at 947 N. Grandview in Odessa. Odessa Jackalopes players will be celebrity guest waiters wearing their special Pink in the Rink jerseys that will be auctioned off after Saturday night’s game against the Wildcats on February 22nd. All tips made by the Jacks will be donated to the West Texas Gifts of Hope. Jacks players will be working the lunch and dinner shifts beginning at 11:00am-2:00pm for lunch and 5:00pm-8:00pm for dinner on both Wednesday, the 19th and Thursday, the 20th.
West Texas Gifts of Hope is a non-profit organization that provides lodging to cancer patients free of charge, while being treated in Odessa.
“We are very happy to be working with West Texas Gifts of Hope again this season,” said Jackalopes Team President Dan Lavergne. “The Hope House project is almost finished, but lacks the necessary funds for completion. We are honored to be a part of bringing a facility like this to the city of Odessa,”
The owners of Yum Yums, Keith and Tracey Ragland were more than happy to lend a helping hand with the Jackalopes cause.
“When the Jackalopes presented this idea to us, we could not wait to participate, said Tracey Ragland. “I think that everyone has been touched by cancer in some way these days and we want to play our little part in something big,”
