Odessa, TX – The Odessa Jackalopes made a trade this past weekend for the Topeka Roadrunners’ leading scorer, Peyton Frantti. Frantti did not play this last weekend, and traveled to Odessa to practice with the team this whole week. The deal included the Jackalopes sending assets to the Roadrunners in return for Frantti.
The rookie from Spring Grove, IL has found success in the league. Frantti has 26 points (11-15-26) through the first 35 games of the season for Topeka. Making the preseason roster for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL, Frantti only saw one game before heading to Topeka.
Frantti played the last three seasons at Culver Academy. Last year, Frantti played with fellow Jackalopes teammate, Rune Kirby, where he accumulated 39 points (21-18-39) in only 37 games played.
Frantti will add to a powerful Jacks forward core, adding his 6’3”, 205 lbs frame as a physical force to be reckoned with. The move comes at a perfect time, as Chris Donaldson was placed on the IR, retroactive to the January 6th game against the Amarillo Bulls.
Host families are an important part of the junior hockey experience. A host family will house the Jackalopes players, as well as be their home away from home. If you would like to be a host family, please email kleisgang@jackalopes.org or call 432-552-7825 for more information.
