Jackalopes Shutout in Weekend Finale

Topeka, KS – The Odessa Jackalopes (21-12-2-1) five-game win streak came to an end on Saturday as the Topeka RoadRunners (12-22-1-2) shutout the Jacks 3-0 in Topeka. This was the second time this season Odessa has been shutout.

Topeka got off to a lead at the 12:07 mark of the first period. The Jacks defense lost the puck and turned it over to Jakub Urbanek in the slot, as he turned and beat Alex Camarre through the five-hole for the first goal of the night.

Topeka would get one more just under four minutes later with the RoadRunners on a power play. Dallas Tulik centerd a pass from the left circle and Mason Vukonich tapped it in for the redirection and the two-goal lead.

One more goal in the third was courtesy of Nick Schultze as he skated down to the right circle and sniped one off the far post past Camarre, making it 3-0 for Topeka.

Alex Camarre made 23 saves on the night, but the star was Sam Metcalf for Topeka has he stonewalled the Jacks 38 attempts for the win.

The Jacks have a week off, but return to action January 18-20 when they take to the road to take on the Amarillo Bulls in the Texas Panhandle.
