JACKALOPES OFFENSIVE TALENTS ON DISPLAY IN NAHL SHOWCASE
Jacks score 13 goals in four games; take one of four in Minnesota
ODESSA, TX – After an impressive 4-3 win against the Wichita Falls Wildcats on Saturday, September 13, the Jacks headed off to Blaine, Minnesota for the NAHL’s annual showcase tournament. This year, over 350 scouts attended the event, and the Jackalopes did not disappoint. The Jacks put up 13 goals in four games, but had some trouble keeping it out of their goal, going 1-3-0 in the four-game tournament.
The action began on Wednesday afternoon, when the Jacks battled the Coulee Region Chill. The Jacks gave Robin Johansson the start in goal after his impressive 40-save performance against the Wichita Falls Wildcats last Saturday night.
Coulee Region Chill 5 , Odessa Jackalopes 2: A five-point effort from Adam Lovick and three points from Sean Lang lead the Coulee Region Chill to their first victory of the season, Wednesday night. The Jackalopes got goals from Kenny Hausinger and Ryan MacKellar in the Jacks first defeat of the season.
Wenatchee Wild 5 , Odessa Jackalopes 2: Kenny Hausinger notched both goals for the Jacks but was outdone by two goals from Jake Ahlgren and two goals from Jacob Liljeroos. Derek Brown assisted on both Jacks goals but the Jacks could only muster 23 shots on the net in the 5-2 loss.
Odessa Jackalopes 5 , Minnesota Magicians 4: The Jackalopes exploded for a four-goal third period and beat Lukas Laub and the Minnesota Magicians in comeback fashion. Kenny Hausinger stayed hot with a goal and two helpers. Razmuz Waxin-Engback put in two goals, and Derek Brown had four assists. Parker Butler picked up the win in his first start with the Jackalopes.
Johnstown Tomahawks 6 , Odessa Jackalopes 4: The Tomahawks fought back to score three goals in the third period to stun the Jacks, 6-4. The ‘Hawks were led offensively by Joe Drabin with three points. Kenny Hausinger notched an assist to push his consecutive games with a point to five. Parker Butler took the loss in goal after coming in relief of Robin Johnasson.
