ODESSA, TX – On Tuesday the Odessa Jackalopes announced the addition of four players to the active roster leading into their home-opening weekend this Friday against the Amarillo Bulls. The additions include Isaiah Huempfner, Gabe Temple, Alex Konovalov, and Kyle VanCompernolle.
Huempfner is a name that should be familiar to many Jackalopes fans. The native of Grand Rapids, Michigan made a large impact last season as the team’s captain and locker room leader during a trying season. As a forward, Huempfner ended last season with five goals, five assists and ten points in 42 games played with Odessa.
Forward Gabe Temple is a native of Fowlerville, Michigan and played with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League last season before being traded to the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Temple garnered five goals and nine assists, for a total of 14 points, playing in 40 games last season for his respective clubs. Temple is currently committed to Michigan Tech University.
Forward Kyle VanCompernolle will be making his junior hockey debut with the Jackalopes after spending three seasons with the Fox Motors hockey program in Michigan. A native of Williamsburg, Michigan, VanCompernolle is committed to play college hockey at Michigan Tech University like his future teammate Gabe Temple.
A native of Summit, New Jersey, Konovalov was tendered by the Jackalopes coaching staff last May. Konovalov played 40 games with the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL last season, notching five goals, 13 assists for 18 points in 40 games played. Konovalov is currently committed to play college hockey at Princeton University.
