ODESSA, TX — The Odessa Jackalopes announced on Tuesday that forward Zach Heintz had been traded to the Lone Star Brahmas for a draft pick and forward Vilho Saariluoma. Saariluoma is committed to play hockey at Bentley University and scored a goal in his last outing against the Jackalopes on Saturday.
Forwards Jared Christy and Kyle Herbster were also traded to the Austin Bruins who play in the North American Hockey League’s Central division. In exchange for the forwards, the Jackalopes received froward Joseph Winkelmann along with a tender.
The Jackalopes will be in action at the Ector County Coliseum this Friday and Saturday when they host the Amarillo Bulls for another installment of the I-27 Rivalry. Saturday will be a specialty jersey auction, along with Dueling Pianos.
