Greg Gatto

The 2018-2019 season marks Greg's 5th full season as the head coach and general manager of the Odessa Jackalopes.

Before joining the Jacks at the end of the 2013-14 season, Gatto was the head coach at his alma mater, The University of Lethbridge (Alberta, Canada) for nine seasons.

This is Gatto's second stint behind the bench with the Jacks. He served as an assistant coach under Don McKee in 2003-04 after playing his final season of professional hockey with the Jackalopes.

After one season as the head coach of the Austin Ice Bats of the CHL, Gatto moved to his native Lethbridge, Alberta to take the head coaching job at the U of L. In nine seasons, Gatto accumulated a record of 80-143-20.

Before hoping behind the bench in 2003, Gatto had an illustrious player career that spanned over eight professional seasons, including three in the Central Hockey League (CHL) with the San Antonio Iguanas and Odessa Jackalopes. Before going pro, Gatto won a national championship in college at the U of L and played four years in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Portland Winter Hawks, Regina Pats, Spokane Chiefs, and Brandon Wheat Kings.

In 2017, Greg was named as the 14th best athlete of all time at his alma mater, University of Lethbridge.

Gatto resides in Odessa with his wife Molly and two kids, Taylor and Griffin.
