Odessa, TX (April 13, 2016) – The Odessa Jackalopes, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are back in the Robertson Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2012. Odessa’s first round match up pins the 4th seeded Jacks against the 1st place Wichita Falls Wildcats for a best of five series that will begin this Friday, April 15th at the Kay Yeager Coliseum in Wichita Falls.
The Jackalopes (27-29-4) went 3-7-0 against the Cats (44-11-5) in the regular season, after sweeping Wichita on Feb. 4-6 in the final regular-season series between the clubs. Odessa, who will begin the first round series on the road, went 0-4-0 in Wichita Falls in the regular season. The Wildcats have won their last 16 straight at home after losing 6-4 against Lone Star back on Dec. 19.
Odessa is guaranteed one first round game at Ector County Coliseum on Friday, April 22. Gates open at an early playoff time of 5 p.m. for $1 beers at the Blue Line Bar and Grill from 5-7 p.m. presented by BudLight. Playoff tickets begin at a special rate of $6 apiece presented by Rhino Truck Accessories. Also, fans that bring two canned goods will get a free ticket presented by Catholic Charities of Odessa and News West 9. All unused 2015-16 regular season tickets can also be exchanged for a playoff ticket.
Odessa’s lone NAHL postseason appearance came back in the 2011-12 season, losing in four games to the Amarillo Bulls.
