Cooper Zech named to the NAHL All-Rookie 1st Team

Odessa, TX (April 27, 2016) – The Odessa Jackalopes, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are excited to announce that defenseman Cooper Zech has been named to the All-NAHL Rookie 1st Team. Zech, 17, becomes the first Jack to earn such an honor. Wichita Falls’s Adam Goodsir was the only other South Division player to make the 1st team.

Zech, who is committed to the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (WCHA, D1), tallied eight goals and 17 assists (8-17-25) in 51 games played with and even rating and 135 penalty minutes (PIM). The South Lyon, MI, native (5-8/150) is expected to return to the Jacks in 2016-17 where he’ll be joined by his older brother Zach for the 2nd consecutive year.
