Blaine Showcase Schedule Announced

ODESSA, TX – The Odessa Jackalopes, proud members of the North American Hockey League are proud to announce their three-game schedule for the 2019 NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota. This year the showcase will mark the official start of the regular season for Odessa.

Unlike last year, the Jackalopes will play three games in Blaine to open up their 2019-20 season. Two of which will be counted towards the overall season record.

On Wednesday September 18, the Jackalopes will start their season against the newly minted Maine Nordiques. This will mark the first time in ether franchise’s history that the two programs will have met and it will also be the first NAHL league opponent Maine will face in their history. Face-off is scheduled for 4:30 pm CST.

Thursday, on September 19 the Jackalopes will play the Northeast Generals at 10:30 am. The last time the Jackalopes faced the Generals was on September 22, 2016. Odessa emerged victorious 6-4 in the first ever meeting between the clubs.

Finally, the Jacks will conclude their Blaine trip with a prime-time match up with the US National Team Development Program. The USNTDP boasts some of the most skilled young players in America and will no doubt be a tough but exciting early season test for the Jackalopes under first-year head coach Todd Watson. This game will be qualified as an exhibition game and will not count towards Odessa’s position in the standings. That game will be played at 8:00 pm CST.

The Blaine showcase is an opportunity for all teams of the NAHL to play in front of hundreds of scouts and for players to gain exposure in their pursuit of developing their hockey careers.
