2018-19 Regular-Season Schedule Announced

Jacks Open on Road at Topeka on Sept. 13; Home Oct. 26

Odessa, TX – The Odessa Jackalopes, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), have released their 2018-19 schedule in compliance with league rules. The 2018-19 season marks the 23rd year of hockey in the Permian Basin and the eighth year in which the Jacks have been part of the NAHL. Odessa opens the season on the road Sept. 13 at Landon Arena against the Topeka Pilots before heading to the NAHL Showcase on Sept. 19-22 in Blaine, Minn. After two bye-weeks, the Jacks wrap up the opening road trip at Lone Star on Oct. 19, before beginning the first home series of the season at Ector County Coliseum against the Shreveport Mudbugs on Oct. 26.

The NAHL marks its 43rd anniversary in 2018-19. The league is comprised of 24 teams representing four different divisions. The Central, East, Midwest and South. This marks the eighth year in which the regular season consist of a 60-game schedule. The Jacks will play 28 games at Ector County Coliseum this season, with 17 being played in 2018 and 11 after the new year.

The Jackalopes will face all five Southern Division teams (Amarillo, Corpus Christi, Lone Star, Topeka and Shreveport) at least eight times this season, including 12 games against the defending Robertson Cup champion Shreveport Mudbugs.

November and December feature the best opportunities to catch the Jackalopes in action as the Jacks will play 15 home games in the last two months of the calendar year. After starting November with a bye, the Jacks will play a three-game set against Topeka before a quick road trip to Shreveport. Afterwards the Jackalopes will play a Wednesday game against Corpus Christi before a weekend series against Amarillo.

In December, Odessa will host the IceRays, Mudbugs and Brahmas for seven straight games at Ector County Coliseum. The Jackalopes will be home from December 13-29 in the longest home-stand of the season before a bye-week to start 2019.

January starts with a five-game road trip and finishes at home against Lone Star. In February, Odessa will start the month at home against Amarillo before starting an eight-game road-trip which will last from February 8 to March 2.

The remainder of March sees the Jackalopes play the Mudbugs four times, twice at home and twice in Shreveport, with a three-game home series against Topeka and a road series against Amarillo.

Odessa wraps up the regular season at home against the Amarillo Bulls on April 6.

With the release of the 2018-19 schedule, the Jackalopes attention steers towards filling out its roster. Main camp will be held in Chicago, Ill. from July 26-29.
