Pink in the RInk, Oct. 22-24

Odessa, TX – The Odessa Jackalopes, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are excited to announce this weekend's Pink in the Rink, October 22-24, at Ector County Coliseum, presented by ORMC in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 100% of the proceeds collected throughout the three-game weekend will be donated to Pink the Basis, which supplies mammograms and prosthesis for woman and men throughout Ector and Midland Country.

In 2013, it was reported that 4 out of 5 women over 40 did not get a mammogram in Ector and Midland Counties. It is recommended that woman over 40 should get a mammogram every 1 to 2 years. According to Susan G. Komen website, “in 2015, among U.S. woman there will be 231,840 new cases of invasive breast cancer and 40,290 breast cancer deaths. Early detection can increase one's five-year survival rate by nearly 99%.

The Jacks will wear specialty pink jersey’s throughout the weekend and fans can bid on them following Saturdays game.

On Thursday and Friday, wear pink and receive a free ticket to either game presented by Miller Light. Thursday is also, $1 hot dogs and half-priced beer all game long. Friday, the first 500 kids, will receive a CBS 7 Color Me Magnet.

Saturday, the Jackalopes will auction off the game-worn Pink in the Rink Jerseys immediately after the conclusion of the game. Following the auction, the Jacks will have Dueling Pianos in the Blue Line Bar and Grill with limited VIP tables (eight people, two bottles of wine, and waitress, $500).

The Odessa Jackalopes donated an estimated $52,000 in 2014-15 to various charities and organizations and plan to equal that in 2015-16. This season, the Jackalopes embark on their 19th year in the Permian Basin and 5th in the NAHL. Pink in the Rink and Season tickets are on sale now.
