The Odessa Jackalopes used a monster three-goal second period and held off the Lone Star Brahmas to earn a 4-1 victory and a weekend split Saturday night at Ector County Coliseum. Both Ryan MacKellar and Derek Brown snapped long goalless droughts while Jon Flakne made 20 saves on 21 shots to earn a win in his Odessa debut.

Hampus Sjodahl (19) extended the lead to two when he sniped a high-slot shot over the far shoulder of Corbin Kaczperski at 8:37 and then Zach Zech (12) capped off the three-goal period by sniping a two-on-one past Kaczperski (14:39).
