In 1991-1992, Ector County Coliseum underwent 5 Million dollars in renovations. Ice was installed on the floor for your very own Odessa Jackalopes. The Coliseum is also the host to many other events in the Permian Basin, including concerts, trade shows, arts, crafts, and rodeos.
Ector County Coliseum also known as the "JACK SHACK" is located at the intersection of 42nd Street (191) and Andrews Highway.
Directions to the Jack Shack
From the North: (Andrews, Brownfield, Gardendale, Hobbs):
Drive south on Highway 385 (Andrews Highway). The Jack Shack will be located on the Northwest corner of 42nd and Andrews Highway.
From the West: (Kermit, Jal):
Come into Odessa on Highway 302. After passing the overpass at the West Loop 338, turn left on 42nd Street (this will be the first six lane road). Continue around the curve and, after passing West County Road and Golder Avenue, the Jack Shack will be on the left.
From the East: (Midland, Big Spring, Abilene):
* Entry from Highway 191 (42nd Street) can be done by staying on Highway 191 through Odessa, and the Jack Shack will appear on the right.
* Entry from Interstate 20 or Business Loop 20 (Highway 80) can be done by taking the named exit for East Loop 338. After taking the turnoff, proceed northbound on East Loop 338, passing the Radisson Hotel, until you see the overpass. Proceed under the overpass and immediately turn left. Then, access Highway 191 and proceed west bound to the intersection of 42nd and Andrew's Highway.
From the South: (Crane, McCamey)
Come into Odessa, northbound on Highway 385. Just keep proceeding north. Stay to the right at the "Y" intersection of Kermit Highway (Highway 307). The streets are basically numbered, so stay northbound until you reach the intersection at 42nd.
