HELLEBUYCK TO REPRESENT THE U.S IN 2014 MEN’S WORLD HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP

 

 

WINNIPEG, MB, CAN – The National Hockey League’s Winnipeg Jets are reporting that newly signed goaltender and Jacks alum, Connor Hellebuyck will be heading to Minsk, Belarus to represent the United States in the 2014 IIHF Men’s World Hockey Championship.

 

Hellebuyck is coming off of a stellar sophomore season with the University of Massachusetts-Lowell earing an 18-9-2 record with a 1.79 goals against average and a 0.941 save percentage.

 

To go along with the inaugural Mike Richter Award for top goaltender in the nation, Hellebuyck was also named First-Team Hockey East All-Star for 2013-14.

 

Hellebuyck was drafted by the Jets in the fifth round, 130th overall, in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
