Cody Campbell Named Associate Head Coach

Odessa, TX – The Odessa Jackalopes, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are excited to announce the hiring of new associate head coach, Cody Campbell. This will be Campbell’s second stint behind the bench with Odessa.

“He’s going to give a lot of energy being a young guy,” boasts Head Coach Greg Gatto. “Cody’s grown as a coach since leaving the league two years ago, getting to learn under other great coaches. He’s an extremely valuable asset with the amount of networking he has with the USHL and NCAA to help our kids develop. Not to mention, his scouting and expertise as a goalie coach goes a long way”

The 25-year-old native of Colorado Springs, Colorado played three years in the United States Hockey League, split between the Fargo Force and Cedar Rapids RoughRiders before going on to play at Niagara University for parts of three seasons.

Following his departure from Niagara in 2013, Cody joined the Jackalopes staff as a goaltending coach for two seasons.  He would go on to Janesville for the 2014-15 campaign, and this past season returned home to Colorado Springs as the head coach of the Colorado Springs Tigers 16U team. Campbell would go on to change positions mid-season as he took over the assistant coaching duties for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the USHL.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be coming back to West Texas,” exclaims Campbell. “The Jacks have been on the rise for the last few years. I look forward to working along side Coach Gatto again to make the Jacks a prominent playoff team and Robertson Cup contender along with helping our players advance on to Division 1 hockey”.

Cody is currently engaged to his fiancé, Jessica, and the two plan to be married this summer before the move to Odessa.

“Odessa is a wonderful place to live and my Fiancé and I couldn’t be more excited to plant our roots in the community,” explains Cody.
